NVIDIA Hybrid (TM) SLI

True Blu-ray

The specifications of the G55-NF750 is easy to concludeMSI is that it is difficult to produce something a little 'work with this card. The board provides support for SLI, Hybrid SLI and has some interesting proprietary technology of MSI, the "Easy OC Switch". In this post I will not test the SLI feature, as was done before this, but I want to focus on the integrated GeForce 8200 chip and see what he can produce in terms of performance.

First Impressions

The NF750 G55 comes in a more sober cardboardStandard size. On it, says MSI support the latest AMD processors, support for SLI and Hybrid SLI and some extra features like the True Blue-ray, ODA and Easy OC Switch.

The accessories included are a manual, a quick installation guide, a driver and utilities CD, I mounted / O backplane, SATA and IDE cables and SATA power cable converter.

MSI-NF750 G55 IN DETAIL

Although the MSI-NF750 G55 is the standard ATX is a bit 'closemost other ATX boards.

There are four memory slots supporting up to 16GB DDR3 (up to 1600 MHz). To clarify this a bit ', the chipset only officially supports up to 1333MHz, but you can run at 1600 MHz memory by making a small change to the multiplier in the BIOS.

The heatsink on the motherboard is the only sink the nForce 750a SLI switching.

CPU cooler with screws, which I like because it can really get a grip attachedhow close the cooler is attached, much better than the plastic fastening systems. The 4-pin connector for the CPU is at the center of the playing field is located.

MSI Active Phase Switching (APS) is on the right side of the ATX 12V connector. This system is fed to the automatic real-time control of the supply voltage for the CPU. The transmission power is actually illustrated by four LEDs, which is a nice feature.

The board has two PCI-E x16 ports and a PCI port. As you can see, thePCI-E are separated by a large enough distance between them. If you are a dual slot card in the second PCI-E will not be able to use the PCI port. It would have been better, PCI, before the first PCI-E x16 port have the place.

The link includes two internal SATA ports with RAID 5 capabilities, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a COM port connection, connections for external contact digital audio S / PDIF and a CD.

The chip for audio and Ethernet connectivityRealtek ALC889, and RTL45CL. Both chips are supported by quality and excellent driver. The chip is Fintek next to the battery is for general I / O of the motherboard and allows you to control the fans with the program SpeedFan popular.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of this motherboard is the "Easy OC Switch". It is a pink button as you can see from the picture below. This option allows us to increase the FSB up to 35%without making other changes. In principle, this is excellent, but it works only if the processor supports overclocking without an increase in tension.

The back of the connectivity is excellent, check the specifications above for a complete list.

Here are some previews of hardware I used:

In the test graphic, I have a resolution of 1024 × 800 with the highest graphics settings.

BIOS

The BIOS in this forum comes from AMI (American Megatrends Inc.) and is very intuitive and easy to use when overclocking.

The menu that interested me most was of course the menu cell where all the settings really important, at least you want to overclock the system. Although NF750-G55 canModules are used as a mean radius of the motherboard, it offers many options for overclocking CPU and memory.

The M-Flash program was added, which is unique in the BIOS of the motherboard MSI. This is a clever little program that can give the BIOS update and also backup and restore older versions of the BIOS.

There is a menu called "User Settings". It allows you to configure different "profiles" of the BIOS settings. This can be useful when it comesto quickly load a preset overclocking settings to a game session, or the like.

BENCHMARKING Part 1 test

CPU performance chip nForce 750a is within the margins, I had hoped. But the memory test came out a bit 'too short, which surprised me because this is usually a strong region with NVIDIA.

BENCHMARKING TEST PART 2

The speed of reading and writing of HD were very good, which means that NVIDIA drivers are the questions that have solvedcauses the disk to work more slowly than expected for older chipsets.

REAL WORLD TEST

What draw my attention from the results above, the poor test results from WinRAR. My conclusion is that it must be based on the memory problem described above.

In tests, the GeForce 8200 IGP does not have significant results in the 3D tests, so it is easy to conclude that, do not use, for games. It 'been a good job for playing HD video, though.

TheThe energy of this system is very low, especially when it is idle, making the operation a good choice if you are building a 24 / 7 system.

Overclocking CAPACITY '

NVIDIA Overclocking AMD chipsets classical past, including the almost mythical nForce 2 and nForce built four platforms. What about the nForce 750a SLI overclock? The following screens says it all:

I was able to overclock the FSB to 264MHz (!) The fact a bit 'surprising for me, I did not expect that it will "overclock friendly," a middle card.

I also tried to overclock the integrated graphics (GeForce 8200). They've got it running stable at 601/1442MHz for core and shader

CONCLUSION

My first experience with the NF750 chipset is a pleasure. The MSI-NF750 G55 motherboard is a very varied. Can be used in a system of hard-core high-end SLI or can be used as a basis for a proposed HTPCThanks to the integrated VGA with HDMI output.

Overall, MSI was able to date around the motherboard nForce 750a SLI chipset based. Its performance and overclocking capabilities are recognized as the same is true for connectivity. The integrated graphics solution is good, but not as powerful as some of the chip that AMD / ATI has to offer.
