NVIDIA Hybrid (TM) SLI

True Audio Blu-ray

The specifications of the G55-NF750 is easy to conclude,MSI has worked hard to produce something a bit 'more with this card. The board provides support for SLI, Hybrid SLI, and has some interesting MSI proprietary technologies, the "Easy OC Switch". In this post I will not test the functionality of SLI as has been done before, but I will focus on the integrated GeForce 8200 chip and see what he can produce in terms of performance.

First Impression

The NF750 G55 comes in a more sober view of cardboardStandard size. MSI stands to support the latest AMD processors, support for SLI and Hybrid SLI, and some additional features such as True Audio Blu-ray, APS and Easy OC Switch.

The accessories included are: a manual, a quick reference installation begins, drivers and utilities CD, I mounted / O backplane, SATA and IDE cable and a SATA power cable converter.

MSI-NF750 G55 IN DETAIL

Although the MSI-NF750 G55 is the standard ATX, it's a bit 'closethan most other ATX boards.

There are four memory slots supporting up to 16GB of DDR3 (up to 1600 MHz). To clarify this a bit ', the chipset only officially supports up to 1333, but it is possible that memories of 1600, making a small change to the multiplier in the BIOS.

The heat sink on the motherboard is just the heatsink on the nForce 750a SLI-circuit is located.

The CPU cooler with screws, which I think is great because you can really get a grip attachedhow close the cooler is connected, much better than plastic fasteners. The 4-pin connector for the CPU is at the center of the table.

MSI Active Phase Switching (APS) is on the right side of the ATX 12V connector. This system is provided for the automatic real-time control of power to the CPU. The power is actually four LEDs, which illustrates a nice feature.

The board has two PCI-E x16 ports and a PCI port. As you can see thatPCI-E ports are separated by a distance large enough to each other. If you use a dual slot card in the second PCI-E will not be able to use the PCI port. It would have been better to use the PCI port, instead of before the first PCI-E x16.

The link also includes 5 internal SATA ports with RAID 2, 3 USB 2.0 ports, a COM port connection, links to external contact digital audio S / PDIF and a CD.

The chip for audio and Ethernet connectivityRealtek ALC889 and RTL45CL. Both chips are supported by high quality and excellent driver. Fintek The chip is next to the battery is for general I / O of the motherboard and also allows fans of the popular program SpeedFan to control.

Perhaps the most interesting feature of this motherboard is the "Easy OC Switch". There is a change from a rose, as you can see from the picture below. This option allows us to increase the FSB up to 35%without making other changes. In principle, this is excellent, but it is only good if you overclock the processor supports the work without increasing the tension.

The back is excellent connectivity, verify the information listed above for a complete list.

Here are some screenshots of hardware I used:

In the test graphic, I have a resolution of 1024 × 800 with the highest graphics settings.

BIOS

The BIOS on this card comes from the AMI (American Megatrends Inc.) and is very intuitive and easy to use for overclocking.

The menu that I was more interested, of course, the Cell Menu, where all settings are at least very important that you overclock your system. Although NF750-G55 canMotherboard of a medium range, which offers many options for overclocking the CPU and memory modules.

The M-Flash program that is integrated in the BIOS is unique for MSI mainboards. This is a clever little program that allows us to update the BIOS and ensure the same and restore the old BIOS versions.

There is also a menu called "User Settings". It allows the creation of various "profiles" of the BIOS settings. This can be useful if you wantto quickly load a preset overclocking settings to a game session or the like.

BENCHMARKING testing Part 1

The performance of the CPU chip nForce 750a is within the boundaries that I had hoped. But the memory test came a bit 'too short, which surprised me, as a rule, a region with strong NVIDIA.

BENCHMARKING TEST PART 2

The speed of writing and reading of the HD was very good, which means that the NVIDIA driver problems solvedcaused the hard drive to work more slowly than expected for old chipset.

Practice tests

What caught my attention from the above results, the test results were poor by WinRAR. My conclusion is that it must be the memory problem.

In the test, the GeForce 8200 IGP chip I have remarkable results in the 3D test, making it easy to conclude that you should not play. It worked fine for HD video playback, though.

L 'Energy consumption of this system is very low, especially when it is in standby mode makes it a good choice to use, if you build a 24 / 7 availability of the system.

OVERCLOCKING CAPABILITY '

NVIDIA has made classic Overclocking AMD chipsets in the past, including the now almost mythical nForce 2 and nForce 4 platform. And as for the ability to overclock nForce 750a SLI? The following screenshot says it all:

I could overclock the FSB to 264MHz (!) This is actually a bit 'amazing to me, I did not foresee how this "overclock-friendly", a medium range card.

I also tried to overclock the integrated graphics card (GeForce 8200). I managed to get it to work stable 601/1442MHz respectively for the core and shader.

CONCLUSION

My first experience with the NF750 chipset has been a pleasure. The MSI-NF750 G55 is a very versatile motherboard. It can be used in a system of high-end hardcore SLI, or can be used as the basis for a proposed HTPCThanks to the integrated VGA with HDMI.

In general, MSI has managed to date the nForce 750a SLI chipset around the building. Its performance and overclocking capabilities are excellent, as the same is true of its connectivity. The integrated graphics is good but not as powerful as some of the integrated chip that AMD / ATI has to offer.
